Music Minister

I thought I would take the opportunity this week to update the church on our church vision and the Music Minister Search Team.

We have received MANY resumes and have narrowed those down to a handfull of candidates who we feel may meet the criteria of the strengths, talents and abilities needed for our music ministry. For these handfull of candidates we have sent our first questionnaire and are waiting to hear back. We have already heard back from some. The Search Team meets every week and prayerfully considers all aspects of our candidates and the area of music in which God is leading us. The team has a BIG responsibility so please pray for the Search Team for wisdom, guidance, instruction and leadership.

Please pray for the person God already has chosen for us. Pray also for all the candidates that God would speak to them, bless them and guide them to their specific area of ministry as well.

As many of you know, we are starting a third service in the gym this fall. Let me explain how this is going to work. At 11:00 am we will start our regular worship service in our sanctuary just like normal and nothing is going to change (except maybe the leader if we have a new music person by then.) The regular worship service will stay the same.

At the same time, 11:00 am, a service will start in the gym. They will have their own greeters, ushers, associate pastor, announcements, praise team, music instruments, etc... Their service will be around the round tables, they will be able to drink coffee from our coffee house at the tables during the service and the music will be upbeat contemporary.

When it comes time for the preaching time, I will get up and preach just like normal in the regular service and there will be a camera in the main sanctuary that will broadcast me to a BIG SCREEN in the gym LIVE and the ones in the gym service will watch and listen to me on the screen. So I will be preaching to both services LIVE, one in person and one projected on the screen. During the invitation, an associate pastor in the gym will come up and receive people for whatever decision they may have or for prayer. If there is a slight delay in starting time for the preaching (in other words if both services don't get done with their music at exactly the same time so the preaching can start on time) we have technological answers for that as well.

So let me wrap this LONG blog up by saying (1) We are still on track with the vision that God gave us in looking for a Music Minister (2) We are still on track with the 3rd service in the gym according to the vision and (3) AS SOON as we find a Music Minister, we are assembling a Search Team to find a FULL TIME Minister of Youth. All of this is happening in accordance to the vision the church voted on and we are on track.

I know sometimes it seems like things go slower than we would like but we have to be patient and follow God and His timing. (1) Music Minister (2) Youth Minister (3) In the mean time plan and prepare for the 3rd service in the gym. God is good! Remember Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Serving the Kingdom,
Pastor Dan
