One Giant Leap for Dan....

The first time someone told me about a BLOG I thought it was a horror movie from 1958! But I found out it is the newest form of communication on the internet. Since I'm a pastor I thought I'd better get with the newest century and learn how to BLOG so I can communicate better.

BLOG is a shortened version of "Web Log" or BLOG. I've just read through "Blogging for Pastors 101" and to tell you the truth...I don't know what I'm doing. I think for some of you this will be your first time reading and perhaps responding to a BLOG. It's just simply my thoughts....funny, serious or otherwise. Feel free to add your comments. Can't guarentee I'll get to the comments to comment on the comments every week but...I'll try. Especially if they are funny. I love puns, spoofs and play on words...can you tell "One Giant Leap for Dan..." Houston, I've entered.....the BLOGOSPHERE.

My thought today: Try something new. I've been toying around with starting a blog for well over a year now. To blog or not to blog...It really scared me to think I'd be blogging on the internet. But it just hit me today, the church is growing, I need a good way to communicate with the community so I'll take the plunge. You know what? It was painless! It took less than 5 minutes to set up my blog site and start typing. Wow, (I hope my kids are impressed. They now have a Bloggin' Dad. How Hip!) Do they still say "Hip" now a days? This new blog thing is GROOVY!
